How the light works
One pulse, three targets
SharpLight's DPC (Dynamic Pulse Control) light is tuned to be absorbed only by what we want to fade — the blood in dilated vessels and the excess pigment in spots. The energy becomes gentle heat that clears the target while leaving the surrounding skin untouched, and warms the deeper layers to spark fresh collagen.
Rosacea & redness
Light is absorbed by the blood inside dilated facial vessels. That energy turns to gentle heat, coagulating the vessels so they collapse and fade — calming flushing and persistent redness.

Sun spot removal in Ajax — $80 per targeted area
A sun spot is a cluster of excess melanin sitting in the skin. The SharpLight DPC Pro delivers a pulse of light that is absorbed by that melanin far more than by the skin around it, so the spot heats and breaks apart while the surrounding skin is left alone. Over the next day or two the spot darkens, and by day 5–7 it flakes away on its own — that is the treatment working, not a reaction.
Most spots need 1–3 sessions, about four weeks apart, and a targeted area is $80 per session. Fall and winter are the best time to do it: treated skin should stay out of direct sun, and there is less new damage being laid down. Results vary from person to person; deeper or older spots can take the full three sessions.

How many IPL sessions will I need?+

How long do IPL results last?+

Does IPL help rosacea and facial redness?+
Yes — diffuse redness, flushing and visible vessels are among IPL's best-documented uses. The light is absorbed by the blood in dilated vessels, which the body then clears. A series of 3–5 sessions is typical, with an annual maintenance visit.
Is IPL safe for dark skin?+
IPL is best suited to Fitzpatrick skin types I–IV. The light is absorbed by melanin, and on deeper tones (Fitzpatrick V–VI) it is absorbed by the skin's own melanin as well as the spot, which raises the risk of pigment change. For those tones Papri assesses in consultation and often recommends microneedling or a GlyMed brightening facial instead — both safe on every tone. A patch test and consultation settle it either way. What's the downtime after a photofacial?+
Mild redness or warmth for an hour or two. Treated spots typically darken like coffee grounds, then flake off naturally within 5–7 days — that's the treatment working, not a side effect. Makeup is fine the next day; daily SPF is non-negotiable.
IPL vs laser hair removal — what's the difference?+
Same family of light technology, opposite goals. IPL skin rejuvenation targets pigment in spots and blood in vessels to clear them; laser hair removal targets pigment in the hair follicle to stop regrowth. We run both on the SharpLight DPC Pro platform — many clients do a photofacial series and laser hair removal in parallel visits.
Can IPL remove sun spots and age spots?+
Yes — sun-induced freckles, age spots and liver spots on the face, neck, chest and hands are IPL's signature result. The pigment absorbs the light, darkens briefly, and flakes away over the following week. Deeper or stubborn spots may take 2–3 sessions.
IPL, chemical peel or microneedling — which is right for my dark spots?+
It depends what made the spot. Sun and age spots respond fastest to IPL. Post-acne marks and texture usually do better with microneedling or a lactic peel series.
